Самая высокая женщина в мире, 53-летняя Сэнди Аллен (Sandy Allen), чей рост составлял два метра 32 сантиметра, скончалась в среду, сообщает агентство Рейтер.

 

 

 

Женщина, признанная самой высокой в мире Книгой рекордов Гиннеса, в последнее время тяжело болела и проживала в доме престарелых в городе Шелбивилл (штат Индиана).

 

 

 

Аллен получила широкую известность в 1974 году, когда написала письмо в Книгу Гиннеса, выражая надежду, что с помощью мирового популяризатора различных рекордов она сможет улучшить свою жизнь в обществе, где она чувствовала себя "белой вороной".

 

 

 

После этого женщину-великана пригласил сняться в кино знаменитый кинорежиссер Федерико Феллини, у которого она сыграла небольшую роль в фильме "Казанова".

 

 

 

По воле случая Сэнди Ален проживала в одном доме престарелых со 115-летней Эдной Паркер (Edna Parker), признанной Книгой Гиннеса самой старой женщиной в мире.
