О фильме:

Эпические и легендарные события истории Таиланда, связанные с самой таинственной и не дающей покоя историкам знаменитой битвой древнего Сиамского государства (ныне Таиланд) с соседней Бирмой в 1548 году. Фильм снят по заказу королевской семьи Таиланда. Версию самого дорогого проекта тайского кинематографа для мировой аудитории подготовил' Яркие пейзажные и батальные сцены, в которых участвуют лучники верхом на слонах и обнаженные по пояс амазонки, вооруженные копьями, а также бирманские легионы, стреляющие из пушек, построены с таким мастерством и размахом, какого не бывало в кино в течение последних десятилетий. Согласно преданиям, во время вероломного нападения бирманцев принцесса Суриотай вышла на защиту своего дворца вместо своего любимого, раненного в бою. Историки спорят с этой легендой, но памятник "принцессе на слоне" по прежнему украшает столицу Таиланда. Жизнь и смерть Суриотай стала легендой.
